The work of Core '23 project team Pantry Raiders lives on at Maternal And Family Health Services, Inc.! The work this team did and the hygiene pantry they created at the MFHS Hazleton location is serving as the blueprint for other pantries throughout the organization.

LNE recently partnered with King Adjei-Frimpong (LNE ‘14) and Alen Amini of Civics for America to offer a brand new workshop, Democracy in Motion: Inspiring the Civic Leaders of Tomorrow. High school and college students earned a Civic Engagement Certificate from LNE after participating in meaningful discussions about the political process, public policy, and serving their community at the CEO Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank. A highlight of the workshop included a panel discussion with six dynamic local and state leaders, including PA State Senator Lisa Baker, WB City Councilman Tony Brooks, WB City Mayor George Brown, Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti, PA State Rep Eddie Day Pashinski, and Att. Angela Sperazza from the PA Attorney General‘s office. Thank you to all who made this incredible and important workshop possible!

Area non-profit organizations and community groups are invited to submit a Request for Proposal to LNE for implementation as a Community Impact Project for both the Core and Junior Leadership Northeast programs. For nonprofit organizations and community groups, this invitation to submit an RFP presents an opportunity to use the services and commitment of a talented team of professionals or high school juniors from 16 school districts. The project teams consist of 8 to 10 program participants who dedicate their Leadership program year to the design and execution of these projects.
