Throwback to Class XLIII's Education for the Future Learning Session! ?? Huge thanks to our Alumni Planning Committee for planning a dynamic day – Dr. Rayyan Amine (Class XLII), Sheree Bogany (Class XLII), Claudia I. Macías, M.S. Ed. (Class XLI), and Trina Silva (Class XLI) – for organizing such an impactful day. We kicked off at the Harris County Department of Education, where Superintendent James Colbert shared the value of community impact on education. Learning Session Highlights: ?? Galena Park ISD Early College Student Panel – Students shared how dual-credit programs are shaping their futures, moderated by Dr. Ashley Sherrard. ?? Goose Creek CISD Student Performance – A showcase of talent and the power of arts in education. ?? The Future of Education Panel – Insights from Dr. Glenn Barnes, Dr. Patricia Kay, Dr. Dr. Anthony Mays, and Jennifer Roach, moderated by Brian K. Roberson II. A huge thank you to our speakers, hosts, and everyone who contributed to today’s discussions. A steadfast supporter of Leadership Houston, Mayor Turner’s commitment to our community and authentic leadership left an unforgettable mark on our city. Mayor Turner’s passion for service, vision for a more inclusive and prosperous Houston, and dedication to making a difference will continue to inspire generations of leaders. As the inaugural recipient of the Icon Award in Leadership Houston’s Inspire Luncheon 2023, he was honored for being an outstanding Houston leader whose vision and dedication have transformed our community over the years. Mayor Turner’s strategic approach to change not only improved the Houston area but continues to inspire countless others to work toward a brighter future. His genuine and long-standing commitment to progress, combined with his ability to ignite passion and motivate others, exemplified true leadership. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire city of Houston during this difficult time.
