关于我们
The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights is a diverse coalition of more than 240 organizations representing the majority of America. As some try to pit us against each other, We the Majority know that everyone benefits from one another's liberation. Together, we use our collective power to protect our multiracial democracy and expand the rights of all people during this era of unprecedented threats to our progress. We won’t go backwards. Born out of the Civil Rights Movement 75 years ago, The Leadership Conference has been an essential convener, thought leader, and advocate for public policies that make our country more fair and free. The Leadership Conference is a 501(c)(4) organization that engages in legislative advocacy. It was founded in 1950 and has coordinated national lobbying efforts on behalf of every major civil rights law since 1957.

In our latest blog, staff member Imani Bryant explains how the 2020 Census is impacting her voting power in this election cycle. "My family’s polling place will no longer be the middle school where my dad has taught for more than a decade. Instead, I will be voting in Georgia’s 14th congressional district, which is composed of mostly rural white voters. Meanwhile, one street over from our home remains in the GA-13th district." https://lnkd.in/eZJADQRB

Politicians and media outlets frequently exploit immigration issues, falsely portraying immigrants as threats to society and fueling division, misinformation, and xenophobia. This has left millions of undocumented immigrants marginalized, living in fear. The creation of accessible pathways to citizenship is essential not only for the well-being of immigrants themselves, but also for the entire country — fostering a stronger, more inclusive society. Read about the benefits of creating more pathways to citizenship for immigrants in our latest blog. https://lnkd.in/epK6EmDU

Our courts need to work for everyone. Yet, after escalating ethics crises at our nation’s highest court, it’s clear that they are not serving all of us.
