Our Signature Program serves 40 of our region’s top leaders across sectors who are interested in broadening their community impact. Diversity on Board provides leadership development, education and board matching services to advance minority representation on nonprofit and public boards. Leadership Akron NEXT provides an opportunity for senior leaders to explore how they can bring their talents and resources to the community post-career. Leadership Akron also offers company-customized Community Leadership Institutes and continued development for our alumni members.

Insight Akron – That’s a Wrap! Our Biggest Class Ever Had a Fantastic Day! Our Insight Akron participants dove deep into the heart of Akron’s history, community, and future! The day began with a captivating presentation by Dave Lieberth on Akron's rich history, setting the stage for a meaningful exploration of our city. Key highlights included: Education in Akron: Dr. Para Jones moderated a discussion with leaders from Akron Public Schools and the Summit Education Initiative, sparking conversation on shaping future generations. Community & Economic Development: At the Greater Akron Chamber, participants engaged with Ron Paydo and other leaders on initiatives driving Akron’s growth and vibrancy. The Arts: Led by Nicole Mullet, an arts-focused session showcased the incredible impact of local arts organizations on our community. Green Spaces: A walkthrough of the Akron Civic Theater and a session with Scott Read and Lisa King underscored the essential role of Akron’s parks and green spaces. City & County Collaboration: The day wrapped up with insights on the collaborative efforts shaping Akron's future. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this enriching day full of experiences lots of new connections! We’re inspired to see Akron’s leaders and innovators come together to strengthen our city.

What an incredible experience it’s been with the Goodyear CLI! From agility to results and mobility, our journey has been packed with insights, inspiration, and actionable strategies to drive meaningful change in our communities. *Be Agile: Our day focused on the power of agility in navigating change and reducing complexity. With speakers like Micah Kraus and Doug Piekarz, we explored ways to stay mission-driven, adapt to external forces, and keep a mindset of curiosity for growth. *Deliver Results: Through community assessments in arts and culture, we saw how creative decision-making drives impact. Thanks to insights from Heather Meeker and Nicole Mullet, we learned to embrace opportunities, make bold moves, and strengthen our community’s cultural footprint. *Enable Mobility: We wrapped up with introspection on the path forward, focusing on leadership in tech, safety, and community engagement. With wisdom from Karen Hrdlicka and Stephanie Smith, we examined how to inspire teams and lead in diverse, decentralized settings. Thank you to all our speakers and participants for making this journey unforgettable. Here’s to putting these lessons into action!

JLA 38’s Arts and Culture program was a blast! Exploring Akron’s rich history and took a dive into how various art forms can remind us that there’s something for everyone in the arts—and that creativity isn’t limited to any one skill set. Whether it’s painting, music, writing, or any form of expression, there’s an artist in all of us! A huge thank you to our incredible hosts and speakers for making JLA 38’s Arts and Culture Day an unforgettable experience! A natural consensus-builder and connector, Robert is known for skillfully guiding teams to be comfortable with the uncomfortable, achieving positive impact with initiatives. Robert’s career began at Goodyear Research Interviewing Center in a part-time role. Simultaneously, he was beginning his career at Summa Health where he worked in varying roles for 30 years. At Summa, Robert launched or contributed to countless programs, including an initiative overseeing Summa’s Diversity Advisory Council and helping with the design and implementation of a Summa’s System Diversity Strategic Plan.
