Good morning fellow Toastmasters, and guests! I hope you are faring well in spite of losing an hour of sleep this morning. I want to invite you all to attend (and hopefully participate in) the club contests we are hosting this upcoming Tuesday during our normal meeting time! Everybody is welcome to compete in the?Table Topics Contest. When you show up at this meeting, you will be asked if you want to compete or just be an audience member. It is just like any other Table Topics session we have hosted, so don't feel as though you have to come prepared! And like other sessions on which we have hosted a vote count, come prepared to be a winner. If you do win, you have the opportunity to represent our clubs at the?Area Contest on March 29th! We also have an?International Speech Contest, for which you must have completed at least two levels of any Toastmasters Pathway. Mastering the Art of Small Talk ?? In leadership, communication, and everyday interactions, small talk is often the gateway to deeper connections. Tonight at Leaders-Speakers of Tomorrow & IT EGOS Toastmasters, our meeting theme was "The Art of Small Talk." From structured speeches to impromptu Table Topics, members had the chance to refine their ability to engage, connect, and communicate effectively. ?? Highlights from the meeting: ? Prepared Speeches: Chuyen Nguyen delivered an inspiring Ice Breaker speech as part of the Presentation Mastery Pathway (L1). Donna Young, DTM shared insights on motivation with her speech "My Way or the Highway" from the Team Collaboration Pathway (L4). ? Table Topics: Led by Denise McConnell, members practiced thinking on their feet—because conversations don’t come with scripts! ? Speech Evaluations: Emily T Murray 莫莉, DTM, and Dr. Veera B Dasari, M.Tech.,M.S.,M.B.A.,PhD.,PMP. provided valuable feedback, helping speakers refine their skills. ? Role-Based Learning: Cinthia Haros kicked off the meeting as Sergeant-at-Arms. Naga Sai Jonnalagadda expertly guided us as Toastmaster of the Day. Karl G Wang kept us on time as Timer. Diana Mussmann, TC5 facilitated the evaluation session as General Evaluator. Yujun Liang (Club Coach) ensured we stayed mindful of our filler words as Ah-Counter. ?? Reflecting on Another Inspiring Meeting at Leaders-Speakers of Tomorrow & IT EGOS Toastmasters! ?? Today's meeting, themed "The Value of Unplugging," was a breath of fresh air. It reminded us all of the importance of disconnecting to reconnect with ourselves. The Word of the Day, "Affability," was exemplified by every member who brought warmth and ease to the room. ?? Kudos to our incredible speakers and role players: Dr. Veera B Dasari, M.Tech.,M.S.,M.B.A.,PhD.,PMP. delivered an inspiring speech titled "Heroes of Humor and Heart: Leading in Your Volunteer Organization" as part of the Visionary Communication Pathway. Cinthia Haros, for leading an engaging Table Topics session that kept us on our toes. Nathan Currie, for a thorough and thoughtful evaluation session as General Evaluator. ?? The impromptu speaking segment challenged us to think quickly and express authentically, while the evaluation session provided insightful feedback, keeping the meeting educational and empowering. Nathan Currie, Qi (Penny) Jiang, MBA, MPA, and Karl G Wang all gave outstanding answers to the thought-provoking questions. ?? Special thanks to?Donna Young, DTM, for her leadership as Sergeant-At-Arms and to Naga Sai Jonnalagadda, Toastmaster of the Day, for guiding us through the meeting. Naga showed great enthusiasm and was fully engaged with the club members. Great job for a first-time Toastmaster. ??? Word of the Day: Swank / Swanky – A stylish word to describe something showy or elegant! ?? Table Topics Challenge: Led by Emily T Murray 莫莉, DTM, this session had members crafting spontaneous speeches about what life in 2035 might look like. ?? AI? Flying cars? Swanky space travel?
