The LEAD Maryland Alumni Committee is hosting an in-person workshop, "AI In Action: Satellite Data for Enhancing Food Production and Farm Resilience" on Thursday, April 17, at Maryland Department of Agriculture, Annapolis. The workshop brings together experts from NASA Harvest, NASA Acres, and the Climate Resilience Network to explore cutting-edge applications of remote sensing, satellite data, and artificial intelligence (AI) in agriculture. Topics will include: innovations in visualizing crop production throughout the growing season; improving agricultural risk management; satellite data applications in the face of unforeseen disasters (weather, conflict, etc.), and; strengthening agri-food supply chain resilience. The workshop will emphasize how we can use technology to enhance understanding of crop production in the U.S. and globally. This collaborative event aims to expand knowledge of satellite data and AI applications for informing agricultural decisions and supporting future food security through data-driven insights.
