This year, the 3rd annual ColoradoSPH Research Exchange on October 11, 2024 welcomed more than 170 attendees. 27 students presented their research on a variety of topics, including statistical methods, impacts of cancer diagnosis and wellbeing at work , COVID-19 and lessons from the pandemic, opioid use, worker health, occupational injuries, and more. #PublicHealth #Research #Exchange #ColoradoSPH

LEAD Deputy Director, Wei Perng, PhD, MPH and other ColoradoSPH and School of Medicine investigators just received funds for a Biostatistics Research Center (BRC). The BRC will support DEFINE T2D (Definition, Etiology, Function: Integration to Enhance Type 2 Diabetes treatment), a consortium of four study sites that are investigating root causes of Type 2 diabetes. Thrilled to share an initiative aimed at understanding the biological, social, and environmental factors behind youth-onset type 2 diabetes. We're focused on identifying at-risk children and improving prevention, screening, and management strategies through the newly launched, nationwide DISCOVERY consortium.?Check out more info on the grant here:

Last week, the LEAD team attended the 3rd annual Colorado School of Public Health 2024 Research Exchange. Huge shoutout to 2 LEAD students, Madeline Farron PhD student and Chris Hollander MPH student, who took home awards for their poster presentations!

Last February, the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus recognized ColoradoSPH's Dana Dabelea’s work with its first-ever Chancellor’s Distinguished Research Lectureship Award.
