It’s Fieldwork Friday! This week, we’re taking a step back in time to uncover a unique piece of history hiding in plain sight. In 1884, Alabama sent a piece of iron ore to the World Cotton Centennial in New Orleans as part of its exhibition. That same specimen found a permanent home in Audubon Park—where it later became the center of an unexpected mystery. In 1891, a Mississippi newspaper ran an April Fools’ story claiming the iron ore was actually a meteorite that had crashed into the park! While it didn’t come from space, the iron ore remains a reminder of the South’s industrial past and the way history can take on a life of its own. Who knows what other hidden stories are waiting to be uncovered? #FieldworkFriday #EnvironmentalHistory #IronOre #Alabama #NewOrleans #AudubonPark #AprilFools #IndustrialHeritage

Thank you so much, ESI SUPPLY, LLC for sponsoring one more year!
Lucky as a pig with a spill kit! At Cochon de Leaaf, we’re feeling extra lucky this year—because we’ve got ESI SUPPLY, LLC in our corner - the third year in a row! Whether you're tackling spills, handling hazmat, or keeping things clean and compliant, ESI is always prepared to fill you up on supplies for the messiest situations (which makes them a perfect match for a cochon de lait, if you ask us!). Their support helps us bring the Boucherie vibes to life, and we couldn't be more grateful. Thanks, ESI Supply, for backing Cochon de Leaaf and always having the right tools for the job—whether it’s spill control or pig roast patrol! #CochonDeLeaaf #LuckyAsAPig #ThankYouESI #SpillTheBeansNotTheOil #WeDoTheDirtyInEnvironmental

As part of our 20th anniversary celebrations, we are continuing to give back to our community—this time by bringing the Bloodmobile to the Leaaf office! We need to guarantee a certain number of participants, so please let us know if you're interested in donating. To make it even better, our Hogs for the Cause team will be cooking for all blood donors and anyone who wants to stop by and drop a donation in the fishbowl. Please see the details here: https://lnkd.in/erH9Wwe8 and let us know if you can participate.

Need an SBA Loan? Don’t Overlook Environmental Due Diligence! Before securing funding through SBA loan programs, lenders often require an RSRA (Records Search with Risk Assessment) to evaluate potential environmental risks. This cost-effective screening tool can save you time and money by determining whether further investigation is needed. What’s Included in an RSRA? ? Historical & regulatory records review ? Environmental database searches ? Risk determination (low, elevated, or high) If your property has industrial or commercial history, or your loan exceeds $250K, an RSRA is likely required. Let us guide you through the process and keep your loan on track! Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eDudq-V7 #SBALoan #EnvironmentalRisk #DueDiligence #LeaafEnvironmental #RSRA

So here’s a big, heartfelt SOW-per thank you to Three C’s Properties for helping us make a difference. We promise to keep the good times rolling, the pig puns flowing, and the community thriving! #CochonDeLeaaf #ThreeCsProperties #SquealingWithJoy #OinkOink #GivingBack
