We’re excited to announce our partnership with the Louisville Metro Housing Authority (LMHA) to redevelop Dosker Manor and the First Link site.
This collaboration marks a significant step in revitalizing and improving affordable housing options in Louisville. We’re honored that LMHA has chosen us to help plan the transformation of Dosker Manor and First Link into high-quality housing that offers a variety of support services for the families who will call this these sites home. LMHA will retain ownership of the land and remain actively involved in each phase of the development.
The project will involve demolishing the three existing Dosker Manor buildings, as well as the former First Link Grocery Store, to make way for new, improved housing and community amenities. This new development aims to create a modern, sustainable community offering high-quality housing for residents.
"LDG is proud and honored to partner with the Louisville Metro Housing Authority to redevelop the Dosker Manor and First Link sites into a place that hundreds of families and seniors will be proud to call home," said Chris Dischinger, our co-founder. "For too long, Dosker Manor residents have lived in outdated housing that has failed to meet their basic needs and expectations. Mayor Greenberg and LMHA Director Elizabeth Strojan, along with their teams, deserve commendation for pushing to redevelop Dosker Manor and other underutilized LMHA sites, and for their commitment to providing more high-quality housing options throughout our community."
We have proposed Mae Street Village as the new name for the Dosker Manor and First Link sites. The name was selected in honor of the late State Representative and community leader, Mae Street Kidd who sponsored the legislation that created the Kentucky Housing Corporation which helps to promote and provide financing for low-income housing. Mae Street Village is envisioned as an intergenerational, affordable, mixed-income community where residents will have access not only to quality housing but also to robust amenities and services on-site.
Mae Street Village Senior, located on the First Link site, will be an affordable senior community with fully accessible units and comprehensive support services, allowing residents to age in place. Mae Street Village Family, located on the Dosker Manor site, will be a mixed-income community serving individuals and families, with no age restrictions. The village will offer support services ranging from childcare and food assistance to on-site service coordinators and medical care.
We were selected for this project based on our proven track record and commitment to community-driven, sustainable development. LMHA will work closely with us throughout this process to ensure that the best interests of the community and residents are at the forefront.
We’re grateful for the collaboration and shared vision that everyone deserves a quality place to live.
