It was so much fun to be back in Edinburgh for the Global Legal-Tech Competition, hosted by University of Edinburgh Law School ?? Five years ago, I came here as a master’s student, barely knowing what legal tech was. That marked the beginning of my incredible journey in legal tech. This time, I returned as a judge, listening to pitches from outstanding shortlisted startups — Jupiter Lex (Anahita, Liam) and Amender (Walter, Scott). Congratulations to Amender for an incredible run and for being selected as finalists to pitch in Madrid, where you’ll present to a room full of industry leaders, investors, VCs, and mentors. A huge shoutout to IE Law School, LexisNexis, and the Law Schools Global League for making this opportunity possible for startups. Special thanks to Professor Burkhard Schafer and Jonny Hardman for the kind invitation, and to my fellow judges, Nicolas and Morshed, for making this tough task a little easier. It was great to reconnect with Hermione and Dr Lachlan, both of whom were such a big part of my Edinburgh experience in 2019. And to finally meet Lilian Edwards, whose work I’ve read and heard about for so long. Scotland is called Silicon Glen for a reason—and I’m so happy to be part of this special story. #legaltech #startups #competition
