Congratulations to Ray Kaiser, PA-C, who recently received a Yale New Haven Health Advanced Practice Provider recognition award for “Clinical Excellence.” Ray was commended for his camaraderie with nursing teams, his commitment to patient care and his exceptional communication skills. As Ashly Thatcher, RN, (nurse manager of Unit 4.1 and pictured here with Ray at the award ceremony) put it, “Ray to the rescue! is what we often say when he steps up to help handle a challenging situation. His patients become his immediate family, he always cares for his patients with kindness and compassion, and he makes a priority out of even their smallest needs.”

Trying to get pregnant? Male infertility factors impact up to 50% of those couples unable to get pregnant after a year, according to Katherine Rotker, MD, urologist, Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, and assistant professor, Urology and Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, Yale School of Medicine. “If there’s ever a time to be living our healthiest lifestyle, it’s when we are trying to conceive,” said Dr. Rotker. Common risk factors associated with male factor infertility can include obesity, smoking and poor diet. This Movember, men’s health awareness month, make sure you’re doing your best to live a healthy lifestyle. Learn more about male factor infertility: https://ynh.care/n6.

We celebrated National Patient Transport Week at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital recently by offering a big thank-you to our Patient Transport colleagues. They answer more than 100,000 requests to move patients to tests and other locations each year, and they move every individual safely and with kindness. It's a demanding job that requires strong legs and sharp focus, so thank you Patient Transport for putting patients first, every day, every step of the way.
