A glimpse into our final HSS Workshop of the year. Last Saturday, students from South Mecklenburg and A.L. Brown High Schools participated in our Careers in Nursing and Health Management workshop at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, NC. We explored the stunning campus, learned about the admissions process, financial aid options, and the nursing curriculum. ?? On Wednesday, we launched the College Hacks Workshops with our first Mental Health Support session, facilitated by our partners at Mental Health America of Central Carolinas, Kevin Markle and Tatiana Leon. During this interactive session, both students and staff engaged in learning effective strategies for managing defensive behavior to prevent physical confrontations with individuals who may have lost control in various environments, such as school or work. Our scholars shared valuable experiences, illustrating situations they have encountered and discussing their preferred methods for self-care. Self-care is essential, and it is important for us to prioritize it daily. How do you take care of yourself?
