Spreading Love This Valentine’s Day ?? This Valentine’s Day, we had the privilege of giving back to the senior community by donating all our products at a special event dedicated to spreading joy and care. Seniors deserve love, appreciation, and the best possible care—especially when it comes to their health and well-being. At Lavior, we are committed to supporting those in need, and this event was a reminder of the power of compassion, connection, and community. Seeing the smiles and gratitude from those we helped made this initiative even more meaningful. A huge thank you to the organizers and everyone involved in making this day so special! ??

**Gratitude beyond words for this past weekend!** In less than three months, we pulled off **BeyondTheGameHealth**, and what an incredible experience it was! Nearly **70+ kids** sat through our panel, listening to former #NBA players and professionals share their personal journeys, challenges, and tips. We brought awareness to Lupus, Diabetes, and Mental Health in a fun and engaging way—combining education with a youth skills clinic, 3-on-3 games, a DJ, and giveaways. This was a completely volunteer-driven effort, and I’m beyond grateful to everyone who made it possible! ? **VIP Panel:** Dr. Jeff Rocker, NCC, LMHC, LPC, Gary Forbes Jennifer Lynne Williams and Roy Collins, MD ?? **Emcees & DJ:** Franco Finn DJScotty Fox ?? **Coaches & Trainers:** @dailybballer, @kyletrav1s ?? **Volunteers:** Lisette McLaughlin ,Allison Jones, Amaru Davis , Henry Marty Antonio Marty Bryanna Quinonez ?? **Photography & Videography:** @photobycb, @thedarrylicious ?? **Sponsors & Partners:** USA Basketball Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. The Importance of Rotating Insulin Pump and Injection Sites: Are You Protecting Your Skin? For individuals managing diabetes with insulin pumps or injections, site rotation is a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of care. Repeatedly using the same area can lead to lipohypertrophy—a buildup of fatty tissue that affects insulin absorption, potentially leading to unpredictable blood sugar levels. Beyond blood sugar control, frequent use of the same site can also cause scar tissue, irritation, and reduced skin elasticity, making it harder for insulin to be absorbed properly over time. Proper site rotation can help prevent these complications and support long-term skin health. Best Practices for Site Rotation: ?? Follow a Rotation Schedule – Avoid using the same area too frequently; cycle through different injection or infusion sites. ?? Use a Larger Surface Area – Incorporate multiple zones, such as the abdomen, thighs, upper arms, and lower back, to give each site ample healing time. ?? Support Skin Repair – Hydrate and protect the skin with diabetic-friendly products, such as Lavior Diabetic Skin Repair Cream, to help maintain skin integrity and minimize irritation. Here’s something to consider: Given the challenges of site rotation, how do you educate patients on preventing scar tissue buildup? Have you seen innovative strategies that make site management easier for those using insulin pumps or injections? Let’s discuss! ??

For individuals with diabetes, foot care is more than just a routine—it’s a critical part of preventing long-term complications. Neuropathy, poor circulation, and prolonged pressure on the feet can lead to slow-healing wounds, infections, and even ulcers. But with the right approach, these risks can be significantly reduced. What Makes Diabetic Foot Care So Essential? Diabetes can affect the skin’s ability to repair itself, making even minor cuts or calluses potential entry points for infection. A daily foot care regimen can make all the difference in preventing complications before they escalate. Key Steps for Optimal Foot Health: ? Inspect Daily – Check for cuts, blisters, redness, or swelling, especially if neuropathy is present. ? Moisturize – Keep the skin hydrated to prevent cracking, but avoid applying lotion between the toes, where excess moisture can lead to fungal infections. ? Wear Proper Footwear – Supportive, well-fitted shoes help reduce pressure points and lower the risk of wounds. ? Use Diabetic-Safe Skincare – Products like Lavior Diabetic Skin Repair/Foot Cream provide deep hydration while supporting skin integrity, making them an excellent choice for preventing dryness and irritation. Proactive foot care is one of the simplest yet most effective ways to protect against complications. What strategies do you recommend to your patients for maintaining foot health? Are there any overlooked aspects of diabetic foot care that you emphasize in your practice?

Why Are Dry Hands and Feet More Common in Winter—Especially for Diabetics? ?? Winter can be harsh on everyone's skin, but for individuals with diabetes, the effects of cold weather on hands and feet can be particularly pronounced. Why? The colder months bring lower humidity, which strips the skin of moisture. In people with diabetes, reduced blood flow and nerve damage can impair the skin’s ability to retain moisture and repair itself, leading to cracked, dry, and even painful skin on the hands and feet. If left untreated, dry skin can result in deeper cracks or fissures, increasing the risk of infections—a serious concern for diabetics. How Can You Combat Winter Dryness Safely and Effectively? Hydrate: Keep your skin moisturized with diabetic-safe products that promote healing and restore skin integrity. Protect: Wear gloves and thick socks to protect against the cold. Repair: Incorporate a targeted solution into your routine, like Lavior Diabetic Skin Repair/Foot Cream. Our formula is designed to deeply moisturize while helping soothe and repair damaged skin—perfect for the unique needs of diabetic skin. This winter, don’t let dryness take over. Take charge of your skin health with the right care and products! To the doctors, physicians, and HCP's: How do you advise your patients to manage skin dryness, especially in challenging winter months? Have you found specific treatments or approaches particularly effective?

Understanding the Science Behind Dark Marks in Diabetes Dark patches or marks on the skin, often referred to as acanthosis nigricans, are a common concern for many individuals with diabetes. These marks typically appear on areas such as the neck, armpits, or groin and are characterized by a velvety texture and a darker pigmentation. But what causes them? The underlying mechanism often ties back to insulin resistance, a hallmark of Type 2 diabetes. Elevated insulin levels can trigger an overproduction of skin cells and melanin, leading to these distinctive dark patches. While they may not always be harmful, these skin changes can signal a need for improved diabetes management. Managing blood sugar levels, maintaining a healthy weight, and exploring skin treatment options can help address these marks and improve overall skin health. Have you ever wondered how closely skin health is connected to overall health? What strategies have you found effective in managing skin-related complications? Share your thoughts or tips below! ??
