“Fuerza Mexicana: The Past, Present and Power of Mexicans in Chicagoland” is the first-of-its-kind report that examines Mexican history, identity and progress in #Chicago. The report highlights Chicago’s Mexican residents, the dominant group in 15 community areas, as a foundation of the region's low-wage #workforce and significant contributors to its economy and culture, documenting their shift from historic neighborhoods to other parts of the city. It also calls for policy changes to address #housing, business support, and voter participation to ensure the community's continued growth and recognition. The report was commissioned by a group of local organizations that serve the local Mexican community, including Latinos Progresando, Erie Neighborhood House, Greater Southwest Development Corporation, La Casa Norte, Mujeres Latinas en Acción and the National Museum of Mexican Art. #hispanicheritagemonth Read the full report: https://bit.ly/4eJogQL
