This event brought together a remarkable gathering of Latino leaders, past honorees, and supporters to celebrate the outstanding achievements of this year’s inductees: Yana Garcia, Gilbert Dávila, Maria Hernandez, PhD, and Richard Hernandez. Today, I had the honor of attending a Change of Command and Retirement Ceremony within the Coast Guard. It was a moving experience, as we paid tribute to the outstanding service of Captain Ryan D. Manning and welcomed his successor Captain Stacey L. Crecy. The ceremony was highlighted by the eloquent remarks of Rear Admiral Andrew M. Sagimoto, Commander of the 11th Coast Guard District, who adeptly captured the essence of Captain Manning's dedication and leadership. A humorous note was shared during the ceremony, playfully reminding Captain Manning that retirement might finally allow him some well-deserved rest, given his perpetual vigilance. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Captain Manning and eagerly anticipate Captain Crecy’s fresh leadership. Staying “Semper Paratus” - Always Ready for what lies ahead, we look forward to the continued legacy of excellence in the Coast Guard Long Beach/Los Angeles sector.
