Ethan has officially earned his Instrument Rating and is already advancing toward his Commercial Pilot License at Heritage Flight Academy in Long Island, NY. 🌟 Ethan is part of an exciting 141 College/Flight School Program, a collaboration between Vaughn College and Heritage Flight Academy, which is helping him accelerate his aviation career. LPA is committed in its mission to inspire, develop and support the Latin/a/e/o/x aerospace & aviation communities; further eliminating socio-economic barriers through representation, financial support, education and mentorship. LPA is a non-profit 501(C)(3), volunteer ran organization comprised of professionals from various sectors of the aerospace and aviation industries. What a fantastic way to close out the year! 🎉 On December 19th, the LPA Chapter hosted an amazing end-of-year social at California Aeronautical University (CAU). Students enjoyed delicious pizza and food, courtesy of LPA, while connecting with two inspiring LPA alumni who shared their career journeys. 🌟 It was an incredible event, filled with learning, networking, and fun! Huge thanks to everyone who attended and helped make this day memorable. Here’s to many more events in the new year! ✈️

The Denver Chapter of LPA had an incredible experience touring the nation’s busiest general aviation airport, Centennial Airport! From learning about de-icing and corporate aviation to medevac services and snow removal operations, we gained valuable insights into the vital functions that keep this hub running smoothly. A huge thank you to Samantha B. for leading such an informative tour and to Centennial Airport for this amazing opportunity!

🌟 Scholarship Winner Spotlight! 🌟 Please join us in congratulating Jonathan Herrera for being awarded The Spitfire & Delta Professional Services ATP/CTP Scholarship! 🎉 This incredible $5,000 scholarship is helping Jonathan take a major step toward his dream of becoming an airline pilot with Delta Air Lines. ✈️💼 Jonathan’s journey to aviation started as a flight attendant with Delta, but after the pandemic hit, he made the bold decision to follow his passion for flying. In just nine months of intense training, followed by seven months as an instructor, Jonathan deepened his skills and knowledge of aviation. Today, he is flying as a commercial pilot for Tradewind Aviation, where he has been serving as captain for the past year. Receiving this scholarship has been a game-changer for Jonathan, allowing him to focus on completing his ATP course and moving closer to his dream. He credits Spitfire for the mentorship, networking, and support they’ve provided, which has helped him prepare for the next step in his career. Jonathan is passionate about giving back, particularly to the Latin community, and hopes to inspire the next generation of pilots to pursue their dreams just as he has. ✨ 💬 Jonathan’s advice to others: "Perseverance is key—there really is light at the end of the tunnel. What a night! The Boston & CT LPA Chapter had a blast at our social meet & greet at the Boston F1 Arcade! They ate, raced, and shared stories about their careers, challenges, and opportunities. Big shoutout to our newest member and two new friends who joined us—including our amazing server! He’s working hard to save up for his aviation dreams. 🎄 Season of Giving with Latin Professionals in Aerospace (LPA) 🎄 As we wrap up the holiday season, we’re reflecting on the incredible generosity that makes LPA so special. This December, our Dallas Chapter hosted a heartwarming Toy Drive & Ugly Sweater Social 🎁✨, collecting toys for children in need while celebrating the season with festive fun. A huge thank you to everyone who participated—your donations will brighten the holidays for many families in Dallas, and the ugly sweaters made the event even more memorable! At LPA, we believe in the power of community, and this season reminds us of the importance of coming together and lifting each other up.
