We want to take a moment to spotlight one of our employees, Brandy Lucas, who joined Lathan Architects in 2024. As a registered interior designer and NCIDQ certificate holder, Brandy brings creative insight and experience to our Interiors team. We are so glad to have her professional knowledge and kind personality in the office. We also want to congratulate Brandy for her recent appointment as the Director of Professional Development for ASID of Alabama. We know she'll do wonderfully in this role!

It takes a team effort for projects to come together from the ground up. We're happy to work with Scout Program Managment and see Springville Middle School progress.

When the project starts to look like the design rendering...... Big progress is being made at the New Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City, AL.

More progress being made on The New Softball Complex at Hewitt-Trussville High School. Always exciting to see!

Last week kicked off two highly anticipated projects for Walker County Schools. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held separately for both Cordova Elementary School and Dora High School. Board members, school officials, and project team members attended the ceremonies to mark the special occasion. Both projects were designed by Lathan Architects for Walker County Schools. The new facilities will feature state-of-the-art technology, providing a modern learning environment for students and staff. The current schools date back to the 50's and 60's. The community is excited about the new upgrades, which promise to enhance educational opportunities in Walker County. A few upgrades include an auditorium and theater, a new lunchroom, additional classrooms, and increased parking. https://lnkd.in/evZnBUP7

On Thursday, February 13th, Cullman City Schools celebrated the start of construction on its new career technology and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) wing at Cullman High School. Cullman City Schools officials gathered with Cullman City officials, the architects, Lathan Architects, and the construction team to officially break ground on the project. The facility includes a new two-story wing located behind the current agriculture class/shop on Fourth Street. The cutting-edge project provides spaces for STEM programs, cybersecurity, health science, educators and training, computer science, and marketing classrooms.There will be a 3,900 sf dedicated space for modern manufacturing on the lower level. The project provides 150 additional parking spaces for students and staff as well. Cullman City Schools has developed programs that align with local and area industry needs. Lathan Architects is grateful to be part of this project and excited to see the long-term impact this type of school facility will have on the students and community.
