This month, we had the privilege of co-hosting the The AI Alliance's NYC meetup alongside IBM and Lightning AI. It was great to bring together the New York AI community working on a variety of innovations for responsible adoption of AI. ? Stefano Martiniani (NYU) discussed Generative AI for Materials Design. ? Robert Levy (Lightning.ai) showcased how Lightning Studio accelerates the AI developer lifecycle. ? Adnan Hoque (IBM) took us deep into optimizing Triton kernels for GPU programming. ? Tim Spann (Milvus) introduced the Data Prep Kit and open source RAG tools from Milvus. ? And we wrapped up with an insightful panel moderated by Phillip Chang, featuring Andrew Hoh (President, LastMile AI), Robert Levy (Staff engineer, Lightning.ai), and Dean Wampler (IBM's chief representative to AI Alliance). LastMile CEO Sarmad Qadri had the opportunity to demo?AutoEval, our full-stack developer platform?to debug, evaluate and?improve?LLM applications. Eval-driven development is a fast becoming a cornerstone of responsible AI development, and AutoEval's fine-tuning service enables enterprises to customize evaluator models to their needs. James joins us after previously implementing networking infrastructure at Lyft, building networking libraries at Facebook and designing data storage infrastructure at Google. His engineering interest include building high-performance systems software that can be explained to anyone, marrying useful abstractions to simple implementations. Outside of work, he enjoys live music, art, cooking, soccer, tennis and hot coffee on cold mornings in Prospect Park. He lives in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, with his English Lab, Flora. We're excited to grow our team and build great things with James!
