We’re thrilled to partner with Cincinnati Public Schools to bring the Food Waste Warrior curriculum to classrooms across the district! Last week, our team had a wonderful time at South Avondale Elementary, guiding students through a hands-on lesson about the importance of reducing food waste. Special thanks to Ellen Stedtefeld and Ingrid Sandidge for coordinating this impactful program, and to the World Wildlife Fund for providing the curriculum to inspire these young learners to save, share, and compost food. Last week I had the pleasure joining 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade classrooms at South Avondale Elementary School to talk about the work of Last Mile Food Rescue, Inc. and the importance of reducing food waste. Using World Wildlife Fund's Food Waste Warrior curriculum, students played a food sorting game where they had to decide to save, share or compost different types of food followed by a mini art project where they had to draw what they'd do with a fresh pack of strawberries to keep it from going to waste ?? Thanks Ingrid Sandidge for coordinating this special program and I look forward to continuing to partner with Cincinnati Public Schools to share this program with students across the district!

On Saturday, we partnered with Temple Sholom for their Yom Kippur service project. Volunteers repackaged rescued trays of prepared food into individual portions distributing over 150 meals to our friends at Tikkun Farm. Congregants also packed kits with essential items for Tikkun Farm’s Nourishment Center. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible! #EndFoodWaste #GotheMile #Thankful
