  • Just like in your search for your significant other, you should have a list of non negotiables in regard to your career. Think of interviews as a first date. You should have some background information on who it is you're meeting up with and what things you'd like to ask. You should also have questions to ask yourself. Here are questions asked on first dates that can be used in your job search and interview 1. What about my application and resume interested you the most 2. What specific quality are you looking for 3. How long was the previous person in the role 4. How do you communicate changes or measure performance Here are questions to ask yourself when searching 1. How is this job going to benefit you and your life (NOT THE MONEY- you can get that anywhere). 2. Do the goals of the organization line up with yours 3. Am I going to be able to learn and grow here 4. What is attracting me to this specific organization/role (NOT THE MOMEY- you can get that anywhere)

  • You are not a dandelion- waiting for a wind of layoffs, down size, leadership changes, or burnout to blow you wherever is available. You have to be prepared so that when the wind blows, you're positioned to set sail and land in a place you want to be. How? I'm glad you asked. Even if you like where you are, NETWORK. Meet other nurses at other facilities working in different fields of nursing. ATTEND nurse events. Stay connected to what is happening outside of your bubble. Be ACTIVE on LinkedIn . These actions will keep your options open in the event something happens to your job, you'll have CONNECTIONS. #nurselife #nurses #careerwomen #womenmonth #burnout

  • Many entered nursing hoping for this magical experience. Nursing is still a very fulfilling opportunity to impact the lives of people in need. The industry has changed throughout the years. There is a need to reconcile our initial expectations and current reality. The expectations and demands on nurses need to be fully examined. #nurses #popthebubble #burnout

  • Love is in the air ?? ?? Self love, that is. This Valentine's week we encourage you to begin to look at how to rest your heart. Rest for the heart is important especially with all that is going on in the world. One over whelming emotional situation after another can overtax our hearts. Some grow numb in attempts to protect their hearts, while others become anxious or over stimulated. Find some quiet time every day to process your experiences and interactions of that day.

  • Yes your soul can be exhausted in fact there are many working alongside you with tired souls. When you have the habit of "pushing forward" without taking care of the inner you- you exhaust your soul. No amount of naps, nail appointments, etc. will fix soul exhaustion. In addition to rest for your body and mind- make sure your spirit is also well rested.

  • Mental Health is just as important as physical health. Likewise, mental rest is just as important as physical rest. The world is so fast pace there is information constantly bombarding our minds. You need to schedule mental rest into your daily schedule.
