About Us Established in 2018 by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Fusion Energy Sciences, LaserNetUS is a collaborative network of high-power laser facilities across North America. Our mission is to advance high-power laser science and restore the United States' leadership in this vital field. Open Access for Innovation LaserNetUS offers open access to its 12 premier laser facilities and one target fabrication facility, enabling researchers and students to conduct groundbreaking experiments in plasma physics, high-energy density physics, materials science, and inertial fusion energy. Our Facilities Housing some of the world’s most powerful lasers, our network was initiated following a pivotal 2018 report by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, highlighting the necessity for enhanced access to advanced laser technology.
