  • Women in Construction Week – Meet Maya Guerrero, our Payroll Administrator!  👏 🔥   We can all agree that the best part of the week is PAYDAY! With Maya working tirelessly behind the scenes, we can trust it will happen each week without fail! Maya’s work helps maintain trust and morale across all departments.  We sat down with Maya recently to discuss the importance of women in construction finance roles. Here’s what she had to say:  “My journey into payroll wasn’t a direct path, but it has been incredibly rewarding. When I started in the construction industry, I quickly realized the importance of ensuring that the workforce is compensated fairly and on time. As a Payroll Administrator, I take pride in making sure our electricians are paid accurately for their hard work. My role empowers our employees to focus on their craft, knowing their pay is handled. Being a part of this industry has given me the opportunity to not only impact the business, but also break down barriers and encourage other women to pursue similar roles.   I’ve found great purpose in managing the complexities of payroll, especially in a male-dominated field. Women have a valuable role in construction finance, and I am proud to contribute to that. I’m excited to continue making a difference, in payroll and the construction industry!” We’re proud to have Maya on our team, working hard each day to push the team forward! Thank you, Maya, for all that you do at Laser Electric! #Womeninconstruction

  • Women in Construction Week – Meet Casey Brown, our AMAZING Receptionist and Admin Assistant! 🔥 She is the first friendly face you see when you walk through our doors and the welcoming voice that sets the tone for our team and visitors. Casey's warmth, professionalism, and supreme organizational skills keep our office running smoothly, ensuring everyone – from employees to customers and vendors – feels valued and supported. A great first impression makes all the difference, and we’re so grateful to have Casey Brown representing Laser Electric every day! Here is some insight from Casey regarding her role: “Having the opportunity to help problem solve across multiple departments creates a rare advantage for a receptionist/admin assistant. I enjoy learning the processes that allow the business to function on a day to day basis as well as how each department flows within itself. As an Admin Assistant, I am afforded a unique opportunity to observe, learn, and then implement procedures to ease day to day flow of work around the office. By taking certain tasks on, I am relieving stressors and creating space for managers to better focus on larger, big picture projects.” Well done, Casey! We are thankful you are here at Laser supporting our crew!

  • Celebrating Women in Construction – Spotlight on our Awesome AP/AR Assistant, Kaila Osterby! Have you thanked your Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist lately? 😉 🏃♀️ Kaila brings her effervescent personality to the office every day inspiring collaborative communication between departments. She efficiently and graciously manages financial conversations ensuring timely project payments and transactions. We are so pleased to have a bright individual who goes beyond the numbers, creating camaraderie amongst her peers, while keeping our cash flow steady and accounting operations running smoothly! Here are some words from Kaila herself: “As a young professional in the construction industry, I have found that being able to adapt and be flexible in my day-to-day duties allows me to be an important part in project completion. The women in this industry assist in project progression by handling the items that are easily overlooked. As AP/AR, I am responsible for creating an efficient system of communication between vendors and project managers. By doing so I am creating space for management and ownership to focus on the bigger picture details. As a female in a male dominated industry, it is important to remain confident in your ability and knowledge and not let fear of failure keep you from entering a career field that offers amazing opportunities. A piece of advice I give to new women starting in our office is don't let anything diminish the effectiveness of the female finesse!” Kaila, thank you for being such a great part of #TeamLaser! #Womeninconstruction

  • Women in Construction Week – Celebrating our Project Coordinators! At Laser Electric, a Project Coordinator is the backbone of every project. We are so proud to highlight our two incredible PCs! 💪🏼💪🏻 Hannah Chiotakis, serving our Construction and DDC Divisions, had this to share about her experience as a Laser Electric Project Coordinator: “For me, a Project Coordinator is someone who ensures that everyone is aligned, deadlines are met, and any issues are resolved before they become major roadblocks. Ultimately, it’s about facilitating the success of a project by ensuring that all the pieces fit together perfectly. When everything falls into place it’s incredibly rewarding! Hannah’s message to women considering a construction role: “Believe in yourself. Continuously learn and grow. Keep pushing boundaries.” Gema Bell, who serves our Service and Special Projects Divisions, has been with us for the better part of 6 years! She has been an integral part of building our PC role into what it is today. Gema shared with us a little about how this role has offered her work life balance:  “Being a Project Coordinator means having hands on every project. I take pride in my work as a PC, making sure the project runs smoothly for our Project Managers from start to finish is very rewarding for me. Unlike many corporate positions, PC’s have the freedom to leave the work at the office. Working traditional construction hours leaves time for me to spend with family and friends and indulge in interests I wouldn’t otherwise have the time for in other corporate fields. When asked what advice she would give to other women looking to enter the construction industry, Gema stated:  “DO IT! Construction has so much to offer, people forget about the trades and how important they are to our daily lives. We learn so much, not just in work ethic but life lessons.” Thank you, Gema and Hannah! Our hard hats are off to you today, this week, always! #Womeninconstruction #FemalePower

  • Kicking Off Women in Construction Week 2025 with Lindsay Petrovic, HR and Payroll Assistant! Where would we be without our Admin support? In the fast-paced world of construction, this role is the glue that holds everything together – ensuring that operations run smoothly, teams stay organized, and management can stay focused on strategic planning. At Laser Electric, our HR and Payroll Administrative Assistant, Lindsay Petrovic, plays a critical role in keeping our projects and teams on track. She is the go-to person for problem solving, coordination, and ensuring that all the behind-the-scenes details are handled efficiently. Her work, from HR to Payroll and everything in between, allows our field and office teams to stay focused on the bigger picture. Lindsay’s contributions may not always be visible on a job site, but they are essential to our success. Because of her dedication, management can make informed decisions, our teams can work efficiently, and our company continues to thrive! We sat down with Lindsay recently and asked her a few questions: What skills or mindset have helped you succeed in this role? “I believe it’s key to maintain a positive and humble mindset, along with a constant desire to learn and grow. As I’ve been learning the processes of both HR and Payroll, I feel I’ve gained valuable knowledge and insights into the business. I’m excited to see where this role takes me as I continue to progress in my career. It’s an honor to contribute to Laser Electric!” What has been your proudest moment as an Assistant? “Last year, Laser Electric introduced a new human resource information system to streamline processes. One of my responsibilities has been assisting employees, guiding them on how to navigate and utilize this new system. It can be tough for employees to adapt and learn new processes, but we’ve got a solid team here at Laser. It is truly fulfilling to witness the impact my role as an assistant has made.” Lindsay, thank you for all you do! Happy Women in Construction Week 2025!

  • Great teamwork goes beyond just working side by side - it's about communication, adaptability, and trust. Recently, Our HR Manager, Cathie Trautman, SHRM-CP, led an engaging Admin Team Session designed to strengthen those skills. We broke up into teams and had a blindfolded drawing challenge, where each person had to take turns describing an object to their blindfolded partner - testing their ability to communicate clearly and listen actively. This fun yet insightful activity was a great reminder that effective teamwork is built on understanding, supporting, and adapting to one another. Join the conversation! How do you foster teamwork in your organization? #Relationships #BuildingStrongerTeams

  • Connecting and Protecting: The Value of Safety Toolbox Talks 🦺 At Laser Electric, we believe in Safety Above All – not just as a rule but as a core value that guides everything we do. Every task, every decision, every project reflects this commitment. A strong safety culture doesn’t happen by accident – it’s built through daily actions, shared accountability, and open conversations. That’s why our weekly Safety Toolbox Talks aren’t just meetings; they’re opportunities to speak up, learn, and reinforce what matters most: ensuring that every person on our team goes home safely. In February, we’ll be focusing on the following: ✅ Our OSHA 300 Log- for injury prevention. ✅ Incident Response Procedures ✅ Hand Protection ✅  Avoiding Struck-by Injuries   Safety isn't just a checklist - it's a mindset.
