?? Exciting News for Laredo! CTPAT Field Office Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony! ???? We’re thrilled to announce that the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) has expanded with a new field office at the World Trade Bridge Port of Entry in Laredo, Texas! This significant addition highlights Laredo’s role in international trade and underscores CTPAT’s commitment to working with strategic partners in both government and the private sector to build a resilient, secure supply chain. The ribbon-cutting ceremony featured notable leaders: Diane J. Sabatino, Acting Executive Assistant Commissioner, Office of Field Operations (OFO), CBP Dina Amato, CTPAT Director Susan Thomas, Executive Director, CCS, OFO, CBP Alberto Santoyo, Acting Field Office Director, CTPAT Laredo Alberto Flores, Port Director, Laredo Armando Taboada, Assistant Director of Field Operations, Laredo By collaborating with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and private sector partners—such as the Laredo Motor Carriers Association, the Laredo Licensed U.S. Customs Brokers Association—CTPAT ensures the safe and efficient movement of goods across borders. This program aims to inspire the next generation of leaders in our community, and we’re excited to celebrate this achievement! Thank you to our incredible panelists—Dr. Victor Trevi?o Mayor City of Laredo, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar, & Nuevo León Governor Samuel García—for their insights on international trade and dedication to Laredo's infrastructure. This historic legislation is a powerful display of bipartisanship and international collaboration that is advancing the Colombia Solidarity Bridge expansion. This critical project will double the bridge’s capacity to 16 lanes, creating thousands of jobs and driving millions in investment for our community. With Laredo handling over 17,000 trailers per day and experiencing a 5% annual growth rate, these improvements will alleviate congestion and strengthen our position as a major port of entry. Securing the Presidential Permit is a historic milestone, achieved through a streamlined environmental review process, marking the beginning of a brighter future for Laredo!
