关于我们
Laptop Upcycle, a nonprofit organization, believes that all public school students should have access to the tools they need to learn—regardless of family income. Our mission: to eliminate technology impediments that widen the achievement gap. 100% of every donation goes to laptops for kids. We collect PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, etc., and wipe them 100% clean, refresh, and distribute them to students who do not have home computers but need such technology to succeed in school. As an organization of volunteers, we are committed to a simple GIVE and GET formula: - GIVE: Donate older, unneeded laptops. Laptop Upcycle securely erases all hard drives and provides donors with a tax-deductible receipt. - GET: Distribute laptops, with WIFI, to high school and middle school students in need, so that they can meet digital classroom requirements. Your older model may be the technology bridge that helps a student succeed. Laptop Upcycle welcomes new and used laptops and equipment, as well as monetary donations, from individuals, civic groups, corporations or anyone with a working laptop languishing in a closet or beneath a bed. Laptop Upcycle is a division of HackNCraftNJ, Inc., a 501(c)3. For more information, please visit https://laptopupcycle.org/ or email [email protected].

It takes a village as they say…. Today a concerted effort between an English teacher at East Orange Campus High School, Laptop Upcycle, and the Kiwanis gave 16 students laptops of their very own! Sarah Foudy (center) posted on Facebook asking for laptops for her students. She estimates that nearly 60 of them have no access outside of school. Since they aren’t allowed to take school issued Chromebooks home, they’re doing college applications on their cellphones. Montclair Kiwanis, Luke Pointer (left) and Ann Bismal (right) volunteered to prep 16 Dell laptops processed by the Laptop Upcycle Lab. College applications just got a little easier at East Orange Campus High. #Digitalequity #Kiwanis #CorporateDonations

We are pleased to hear from those who have benefited from our laptop donations. A committed teacher at Barringer High School has made a notable difference in the lives of three AP students. Judy Hall successfully coordinated laptop and hotspot donations. In the aftermath of COVID-19, which saw Chromebooks distributed to all students, current funding constraints have resulted in several of her AP students lacking access to computers.

It's fantastic to see organizations like the Andrus School stepping up to support educational initiatives, as exemplified by their generous donation of 83 used laptops to Laptop Upcycle. This collaboration will undoubtedly make a positive impact in the community, enabling more students to engage with technology in meaningful ways. Tom Biaso and Slade Bunn's dedication to securing and preparing devices emphasizes the Andrus School's holistic approach to supporting children, ensuring they receive both emotional and educational resources alongside enhanced technological access. Laptop Upcycle's Advisory Council tech guru, Mark Zbucki, made the trip with the laptops to our Montclair, NJ computer lab where he will ensure these laptops are properly prepped and ready to make a difference for kids in need. https://andrus1928.org @andruschildren #digitalequity #nonprofitsrock Laptop Upcycle Heroes

Our common mission… Digital Equity!
From October 7-11, we're joining the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) and hundreds of organizations, practitioners, and advocates to celebrate #DIW2024, raising awareness for digital inclusion and equity. This year's theme, "Stronger Together: Mobilizing Towards Sustainability," emphasizes the power of collective action in driving long-term, impactful change. At Digitunity, we believe that closing the digital divide is a shared responsibility. This requires diverse partnerships, community engagement, and a unified commitment to computer ownership and equitable access for all. True sustainability is only possible when we unite, share resources, and combine our strengths. By collaborating, we can create a future where everyone has the technology and opportunities to succeed. Let's continue building momentum, inspiring action, and working hand-in-hand to make computer ownership and digital equity a reality. #DigitalDivide #StrongerTogether
