At Laptis, we envision a future in which all Americans have equitable and efficient access to life-saving care. To that end, we are building a platform to streamline connections with trusted substance use treatment for lawyers, clinicians, and peer advocates on behalf of their clients. Our platform addresses the fragmentation and opacity that pervade the substance use treatment landscape. These tendencies cause countless individuals to either completely forego treatment or receive treatment that is a poor fit for their needs. As a result, addiction, overincarceration, and perpetual cycles of poverty abound in our society, and critical frontline professionals spend hours every day sourcing treatment instead of focusing on their specialties. The status quo also requires treatment centers to allocate resources in ways that stand to gain from the density and efficiency of the Laptis platform; partnerships with Laptis allow them to reduce distractions and spend more energy on their core gift: treating those in need. Numerous workers on the ground have told us that our solution is “desperately needed.” We are currently pilot testing the Laptis platform alongside many of these workers and their organizations, and we expect to increase capacity soon.
