Thanks to the Bridges Career Opportunities model from LISC, dozens of participants have gained industry-recognized certifications like NCCER Core and OSHA 10, strengthening their knowledge of quality and safety practices in construction. Our Workforce Development Program blends hands-on training with in-person learning, equipping participants with valuable skills to enhance their job market competitiveness. We are excited to highlight @Natalia Rodriguez-Hilt, Senior Director of UnidosUS Affiliate Support and Small Business Strategies, and a valued member of La Plaza's Board of Directors. Natalia’s rich cultural heritage has fueled her passion for serving the Latino community. Born in Guatemala, raised in Mexico, and with a diverse family background—her mother is from the U.S., and her father is from Colombia—Natalia’s upbringing was shaped by love, hospitality, international influences, and, of course, great food. Since moving to Indianapolis, Natalia has become deeply involved with the Latino community, motivated by a desire to invest in its future. She shared, “It’s a privilege to serve an organization that has faithfully supported the Latino community. La Plaza is at such a critical time of growth and opportunity, and I’m honored to contribute.” One of her most memorable moments with La Plaza was during a visit to La Casa de Amistad, where board members and staff imagined the future of La Plaza’s home—a dream she firmly believes in.
