Yesterday, Brian Floyd reminded us that at ECU Health, we are Mission Focused to become a National Model for the delivery of Rural Healthcare. Another key point that he shared was that our systems for delivery of health care with ECU Health are as strong as those who are on the front-lines of our processes. And that it takes leadership, or more importantly, followership, to maintain efficient systems. Thanks to an investment by our Office of Experience, 150 leaders across our healthcare system attended a session titled, “Becomming Leaders Who Inspire Change.” Led by Rabbi David Lapin, the Team from the Lapin Group challenged us to change others by (first) changing ourselves. From learning about defensive operating systems and heroic operating systems, the Ladder of Inference and how to listen - to really listen not only to what is said, in the words of Rabbi Lapin, “to hear what is not being said.” I’ve had the privilege to work in healthcare for the past 23 years. This session on leadership was, without a doubt, the most impactful session that I have attended. #ECUHealth #ECUHealthStrong
