Microsoft software and services are currently experiencing major worldwide outages due to an issue with Crowdstrike. While many of Microsoft's services have recovered, they are presently working to resolve the problems with others. As far as we know, this is NOT a cybersecurity-related incident, but rather, an issue with an update pushed by Crowdstrike, a cybersecurity tool. While Crowdstrike is not used internally or directly for In-Telecom customers, the outages may impact your other vendors and platforms, resulting in issues or downtime. Microsoft and Crowdstrike have acknowledged the issues and are taking steps to remediate them. Unfortunately, ongoing issues, including BSOD loops, still impact Crowdstrike users, particularly those also utilizing Bitlocker. Crowdstrike has published a workaround for endpoints affected by the blue screen issue. However, impacts may be more difficult if users are also utilizing Bitlocker. The workaround steps from Crowdstrike: 1. Boot Windows into Safe Mode or the Windows Recovery Environment 2. Navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory 3. Locate the file matching "C-00000291*.sys", and delete it. 4. Boot the host normally. If this Microsoft/Crowdstrike outage has impacted your business, now may be the time to consider SentinelOne as an alternative.
