Ready set, SHINE! We are excited to welcome LR Productions and The Sparkle & Shine Invitational Tour with Trinity Thomas. This weekend there will be an incredible women’s artistic gymnastics competition, open to USA Gymnastics, NGA, and AAU levels 1-10, as well as Xcel divisions. We look forward to an amazing event filled with talent, dedication, and the spirit of gymnastics!

Only two short blocks from the Michigan State Capitol, where laws take shape daily, approximately 600 high school students are getting their own hands-on government experience at the Lansing Center! We’re grateful to YMCA Michigan Youth in Government for bringing this event, and empowering teens to engage in democracy firsthand. As a student-run, student-led model government program, students gather from across Michigan to engage with and learn the systems that make our democracy function. Not only is their motto “Democracy must be learned by each generation” inspiring, but they are a well-mannered, and very respectful group. A special thank you to the Michigan Pork Producers Association, for choosing the Lansing Center as the venue for their annual symposium! The 2025 Michigan Pork Symposium brought together 250 pig farmers and industry representatives from across the country for this all-day event! The symposium included several breakout sessions that focused on educating producers about good production practices and excellent business management approaches to help them provide an environmentally-safe, socially-acceptable, low-cost source of meat. This past week we had a tree-mendous conference with high-quali-tree members, thanks to ISA Michigan, a proud chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture. This year's annual #ArborCon2025 had an estimated 800 arborists, tree care professionals, and nature lovers that were looking to expand their knowledge, grow their skills, connect with industry leaders, or just geek out over all things trees. Our venue provided a variety of spaces to accommodate their educational sessions and networking opportunities. Most importantly our exhibiting halls with 40' ceilings were perfect to showcase the newest cutting-edge products and latest gear equipment! In collaboration, Michigan Department of Transportation and American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan will bring leaders from ACEC/Michigan firms to participate in a pre-workshop meeting with MDOT leaders at the Lansing Center today and tomorrow (2/6 - 2/7). MDOT-ACEC Partnering Teams will share key accomplishments from the past year and identify goals for the coming year. Providing technical information sharing, communication of new policies and procedures, and extensive networking.
