As we close this week of spotlighting our apprentices for National Apprenticeship Appreciation Week, we asked Rob Copenharve to reflect on why apprenticeships are important to Lankford: “Apprenticeships combined with mentoring are essential to the success in providing a structured learning environment where a novice (apprentice) can gain hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge from an experienced mentor, allowing for effective skill development, career guidance, and a smooth transition into the workforce. As we close this week of spotlighting our apprentices for National Apprenticeship Appreciation Week, we asked Mark Zamiar to reflect on why apprenticeships are important to Lankford: “One of the greatest joys I've had in my career was watching an individual enter the trades as a fresh recruit, told to show up at 6 a.m., and, over the course of a few years, grow into a skilled journey person. Seeing their dedication, resilience, and craftsmanship evolve is a reminder of the life-changing opportunities apprenticeship provides in our industry. Meet our painting apprentice, Riley! We asked him some questions about himself that we would like to share. 1.???????What are your biggest professional goals for the next 5 years? My next professional goals are to keep learning new things and getting better at new (to me) work techniques like spraying, drywall taping and wallpaper.? 2.???????What’s your go-to way to unwind and recharge after a busy week? After a busy week my go-to way to unwind is bass fishing at a river or lake.? 3.???????You win the lottery! What’s the first thing you would do? The first thing I would do is call my family and friends and take them on a vacation.? 4.???????What advice would you give to someone new starting at our company? To ask questions and watch how others work to maybe learn something new.?

Meet our carpenter apprentice, Bryan! We asked him some questions about himself that we would like to share. 1. What initially drew you to your field? I’ve always been interested in construction. My father and his father were both carpenters when I was growing up, so being around them had an influence on my choice of career. 2. Who has been the biggest influence on your career path, and why? My biggest influence has been other carpenters and business agents from my local. When attending meetings or volunteer work for my local and seeing other carpenters who have seen success in this trade motivates me to want to continue to develop my skills 3. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? I’d like to travel to Greece or Italy. I’d love to see Italy for the culture and food, and Greece I would love to see for the views. 4. What’s a fun fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know? I like a good nature hike. Especially with my dog. I love to explore in to nature and see things we don’t see in our everyday life of civilization. 5. What’s your favorite aspect of our company culture? My favorite aspect of this company’s culture is their supportiveness, commitment to safety and recognition of quality work. 6. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Don’t stress over things you can’t change.

Meet our painting apprentice, Mike! We asked him some questions about himself that we would like to share. 1.???????Who has been the biggest influence on your career path, and why? My family. They taught me the value of hard work. 2.???????What initially drew you to your field? I wanted to be part of the union. 3.???????If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? Oregon, it’s a great spot for adventures and fishing. 4.???????If you could have any superpower, what would it be and how would you use it? Flying, I could use it to beat traffic on my way home. 5.???????What’s your favorite aspect of our company culture? Safety. 6.???????What makes you laugh the hardest? My friends and family.?

Meet our carpenter apprentice, Matthew! We asked him some questions about himself that we would like to share. 1.???????Who has been the biggest influence on your career path, and why? The person that has been the biggest influence on my career path would definitely be my dad. He’s always motivated me to do the best job I can and stay on track, he has taught me so much about this line of work. He’s always someone that I looked up to, so it has helped me set goals to achieve greater accomplishments with work.? 2.???????If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? If I could travel anywhere in the world I would go to Japan. I would love to experience the culture.? 3.???????What’s a fun fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know? A fun fact about myself is I play way too much golf and haven’t gotten any better.? 4.???????What advice would you give to someone new starting at our company? Some advice I would give to someone new starting with our company would be to keep your head down and try to learn as much as you can as fast as you can.? 5.???????What’s your favorite way to spend a day off? My favorite way to spend a day off would either be at the beach with friends and family or golfing.

Meet our painting apprentice, Rachel! We asked her some questions about herself that we would like to share. 1.?????What initially drew you to your field? Being able to make a fantastic living for my family with excellent insurance and benefits 2.?????What are you most passionate about outside of work? What I am most passionate about outside of work is definitely my kids and family. I love spending time cooking dinners and watching movies with them. 3.?????What’s a fun fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know? I am a Scorpio and my favorite color is blue and I’m a huge tomboy. 4.?????What’s your favorite aspect of our company culture? Is the L.I.F.E. program. Safety is very important to me so I am glad I am with a company that has the same value of life as me. 5.?????Early bird or night owl? I am an early bird now since being in the union but I was a night owl my entire life prior. Much prefer being an early bird.?

Meet our carpenter apprentice, Emily! We asked her some questions about herself that we would like to share. 1.???????What initially drew you to your field? Construction has always fascinated me. Now that I am in it I enjoy it more than anything. 2.???????What are you most passionate about outside of work? Outside of work, I am most passionate about strength training. 3.???????What’s your go-to way to unwind and recharge after a busy week? After a busy week, I like to unwind by spending time with my dog. Going on walks or playing fetch with him. 4.???????What’s a fun fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know? Most people that know this call me crazy for it… But during the week I wake up around 2:30am to go to the gym before work. The mental and physical aspect of it helps me start off my day. 5.???????What’s your favorite aspect of our company culture? The family aspect. 6.???????What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Those who mind don’t matter, those that don’t mind matter?

Running, working, and moving my way up in the company. 2.???????What’s your go-to way to unwind and recharge after a busy week? ?Be with friends or family. 3.???????What’s a fun fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know? I know how to draw. 4.???????What’s your favorite aspect of our company culture? The people and practices on safety. 5.???????What’s your favorite way to spend a day off? Going to the shooting range.

Meet our painting apprentice, Tommy! We asked him some questions about himself that we would like to share. 1.???????What initially drew you to your field? A friend of mine told me about all the great perks of being in the union and the cool jobs and experiences that come with it. So that drew into this field of work. 2.???????What’s your go-to way to unwind and recharge after a busy week? After a long week I like to hang with friends & family by the campfire and cook good food and have a few cold one. 3.???????You win the lottery! What’s the first thing you would do? If I won the lottery I would pay my parents house off and that wouldn’t amount to the slightest of what they’ve done for me. 4.???????What’s your favorite aspect of our company culture? favorite aspect would be the group of brothers that always have my back and can call on them for anything and they will always have my back for questions about work or personal. 5.???????What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? No one owes you anything and try your best.?
