25 Project for 25 Years | Shamrock Trading Corporation ?? In the spirit of St. Patrick's Day week, we're spotlighting the Shamrock Trading Corporation for the next project in our series! In 2018, Shamrock expanded its headquarters in the City of Overland Park, reinforcing its commitment to in-office collaboration. Landworks Studio, along with the wonderful design team and general contractor, created the master plan and then full design of the space, creating outdoor amenities and a stormwater pond for irrigation across 15+ acres of the property. You can see their signature pond and fountain at the original headquarters at the northwest corner of 95th Street and Metcalf where the landscape enhances the brand identity! Today stakeholders from the city and the recreation commission were joined by the team at Landworks Studio to kickoff our next project here in Sedgwick. Over the next 18 weeks we will be engaging the public to build the framework for the Parks Master Plan. Common themes we heard throughout the day to describe Sedgwick included community, togetherness, inclusivity, champions, and collaboration. Having a strong offering of recreational opportunities and green spaces is paramount for citizens of all ages. There has been a lot of great activation throughout Sedgwick leading up to this, so it will be interesting to see the trajectory for the future. Our first community engagement event is April 5th!

It was a beautiful afternoon for the groundbreaking of the Hodge Park Pickleball Courts for?KCMO Parks & Recreation. 25 Projects for 25 Years | JCC of Dallas Outdoor Education Center ???? For the third project in our series, we’re highlighting our collaboration with the JCC of Dallas and White Hutchinson Leisure & Learning Group back in 2011. This project transformed a traditional playground into an immersive Certified Outdoor Education Environment designed to inspire creativity, exploration, and connection with nature. From sand and water tables, to willow huts and climbing rocks, we crafted dynamic spaces tailored for pre-school/toddler-aged kids and the older day camp children – encouraging hands-on learning and inclusive play. Through teamwork and an adaptable approach, we were able to manage the challenges of site drainage with new water features and navigate complex communication with project partners. Our team delivered a unique and enriching play space that will continue to spark imagination and adventure in young minds for years to come. #25Projectsfor25Years #LandscapeArchitecture #OutdoorEducation #NaturePlay

Did someone say ?? BINGO?! We had a blast at this year’s Engineering Club of Kansas City’s Shrimp Bingo - a legendary night of fun, networking, and supporting future engineers. This annual events raises funds for engineering student scholarships through the College Student Assistance Program! It’s always great to connect with fellow design and construction professionals while enjoying good food and company, plus some competitive (but friendly!) bingo action. 25 Projects for 25 Years | City of Grandview Farmers Market (8th & Main) ???? For our second project in this series, we're revisiting a space designed to aid in the revitalization of Downtown Grandview by encouraging private development and creating a place for the community to gather and celebrate. The design was inspired by Grandview's rail history, with arcs resembling train tracks, and the iconic arch reflecting railroad bridge structures found throughout the country. This space was envisioned as a dynamic hub for community gatherings, featuring a water feature wall, flexible event space for vendor booths, live music and movie nights, and even hosting the start and finish lines for races. This project was a major milestone for us - it was our largest project completed through construction as a lead consultant. We remain grateful to Dennis Randolph, Grandview's Public Works Director at the time, for?allowing us?to work with the city in this capacity. His trust in us was pivotal, and this project will remain a defining moment in Landworks Studio's journey. Though plans for the Farmers Market have since shifted, this space remains a symbol of Grandview's evolution and commitment to vibrant public spaces.
