On Monday, Landus and Pheasants Forever hosted the welcome reception for the Field to Market Plenary and the Sustainable Agriculture Summit to kick off the national gathering of members. Field to Market: The Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture is an alliance of 190 member organizations across the food and agriculture value chain who work together to create a future in which farmers, business, and nature thrive. Our President and CEO Matt Carstens spoke alongside Marilyn Vetter, President and CEO of Pheasants Forever, and Brent Rudolph, Director of Sustainability Partnerships for Pheasants Forever.

Our President and CEO Matt Carstens was included in Reuters’ article about farmers making some strategic choices ahead of spring planting with shrinking margins. In the face of challenging market conditions, many farmers are considering turning to generic crop chemicals to cut back on input costs. Matt emphasizes that these decisions boil down to a core question: “What does the farmer really need?” One of our main goals at Landus is to support farmers in identifying the solutions that meet their unique needs. At the end of the day, though, I'm an Iowan who is passionate about wanting all Iowans to flourish, and I know that starts with the backbone of our state: the farmers.
