?? An enabling #livestock #policy environment can support mobilization of #ClimateFinance to improve productivity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In #Kenya, climate-related disasters result in socio-economic losses estimated at 3-5% of the country’s annual gross domestic product. ??The country’s agriculture sector is both impacted by and contributes to climate change, with livestock contributing the most to emissions. ??To address this, the government of Kenya included livestock in the food and nutrition priority area of its nationally determined contributions (NDCs). ??This enabling policy environment allowed for the development of projects that will support the livestock sub-sector to achieve targets in Kenya’s NDCs. Ultimately, this helps channel much-needed #ClimateFinance4Livestock.
