Last week, we teamed up with our amazing partners at Friends Of The Riverfront in Marshall-Shadeland to make a difference along the Heritage Trail and the riverbank. Together, we tackled invasive plants in key areas, paving the way for future tree planting and enhancing river views for trail users. We also worked on spreading wood chips around newly planted trees. Not only does this provide a protective layer, but it also helps suppress weeds and invasive plants, ensuring the trees have the best chance to thrive. As we have shared in the past, our individualized approach to work readiness is one crucial aspect that sets our program apart. Our dedicated Work Readiness Managers visit project sites to conduct one-on-one career coaching sessions with each crew member. During these sessions, they collaborate to set goals, discuss challenges, and monitor progress toward achieving them. These interactions allow Crew Members and Work Readiness Managers to connect personally outside of a professional setting.
