Perched atop a stunning hilltop in Dana Point, California, St. Edward the Confessor's new 35,000-sq.-ft. worship plaza transformed what was once a constricted space into a welcoming destination. Sweeping curved pathways now guide visitors from gathering spaces to a breathtaking view of the ocean. The design features a social plaza with radial patterns and tree-lined bosques, a boardwalk with integrated bio-filtration, and a reimagined memorial wall that honors tradition while creating new opportunities for reflection. Multiple gathering spaces with catenary lighting encourage post-service communion, creating an environment that will be enjoyed for generations to come. We’re excited to celebrate a major milestone for the Magnolia Tank Farm project! In close partnership with Shopoff Realty Investments, we’ve worked through a thoughtful and collaborative process to achieve unanimous approval from the Huntington Beach City Council. This marks a significant step forward for the 29-acre mixed-use development and a proud achievement for everyone involved. Shopoff Realty Investments plans to break ground in summer/fall 2025. In collaboration with Domus Studio Architecture and the Diocese of Orange, we've designed a contemplative journey through the Mysteries of the Rosary, featuring: ? Four distinct areas representing Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries ? Handcrafted Peruvian Andean artwork ? 17 mature olive trees in the Marian Gardens and Garden of Gethsemane Grove ? Thoughtful uplighting for a transformative nighttime experience This project builds on our previous work at Christ Cathedral, including the Neutra Arboretum renovation. Process sketches for a forest concept that will define itself through immersive and rustic qualities. The approach is gentle, minimizing grading to preserve the natural bowl, which will be filled with a rich tapestry of forest and meadow. To reforest this area, we'll use field-dug trees from on-site, ensuring an authentic connection to the land. Throughout the space, a network of secret trails and hidden refuges will be woven, creating opportunities for residents and local wildlife to mingle and explore. A key question we're addressing: How can we authentically recreate the feel of an old California arroyo in this space? The goal is to capture that timeless, wild essence that resonates with the site's history.
