LANDCO2 collaborated with St. Bakhita Catholic Worker House in Milwaukee to design a meditation garden for a currently vacant lot next to the existing residential facility. The space will offer a calm and nurturing experience with a variety of plant colors, textures and scents. When a new accessible entry was built at the main entrance of this historic church on the East Side of Milwaukee, LANDCO2 was asked to help with a planting plan that would soften the stone walls along the ramps while providing a unique experience for visitors and congregants. LANDCO2 worked with the Garden Club of Greater Milwaukee on the design of a seating oasis within Lakeshore State Park, along the shores of Lake Michigan in downtown Milwaukee. One of the few state parks found in an urban area, the site boasts spectacular views of the lake, the Summerfest grounds and the downtown skyline.
