Vocational Training Land of Lincoln Goodwill has developed a groundbreaking vocational training program that incorporates a variety of strategies to help those with intellectual disabilities lead more productive lives. Community Day Services Our Community Day Services for adults with intellectual disabilities include purposeful and meaningful activities and are designed to help get skills, teach appropriate behavior and give more independence and personal choice. Veterans Employment The return to civilian life can be overwhelming and barriers to employment may be quite different for a veteran. Our Career Coaches understand this and have been specially trained to assist veterans and support your efforts to find a job and get back to work. Goodwill Youth Services Goodwill Youth Services is a youth mentoring program to assist youth in high-risk situations to make better life choices. Goodwill Youth Services in central Illinois provides additional training and mentor support, advocacy and teaching roles for mentors, expanded parental engagement and more structured activities for youth. Goodwill Clean GoodwillCLEAN is the area’s complete, nonprofit commercial custodial and grounds keeping company. What a night of "Heart of a Champion" an Olympic themed celebration! We had a packed house of over 300 sponsors, adult and youth clients, Board of Directors, employees and their families, join us at the University of Illinois at Springfield for our 2024 Annual Awards Event. Maggie Rutenbeck & Drew White were kind enough to come and share their experiences through Special Olympics Illinois - Region H and the World Games. Drew spoke of the friendships he's made around the world. These types of collaborative recycling partnerships truly sets Goodwill Industries apart from other just “thrift stores”. Our effort to divert materials from the landfills is real!!
Today, Goodwill Industries International and Reju announced that, in collaboration with WM, they have aligned on initial plans to pursue a multi-year initiative designed to help advance textile recycling in North America. They plan to develop a collaborative model for regional textile collection, sortation, reuse and recycling that is intended to divert more nonwearable textile materials from the waste stream.? Currently, a small percentage of textiles is recycled. According to Textile Exchange’s annual Materials Market Report, globally, of the 124 million tonnes of textiles produced in 2023, less than 1% of the total fiber market consisted of recycled textiles. This planned collaboration seeks to create a system that captures a greater percentage of discarded textiles for resale or regeneration, helping textiles go to their next best use. Both Goodwill and WM are major players in the North American recycling industry. The Goodwill network plays a critical role in powering the circular economy. The nonprofit organization operates over 3,300 stores across the U.S. and Canada. Goodwill and WM will work together to source textile waste in their streams. The remaining secondhand textiles not suitable for reuse will provide Reju with a supply of feedstock for regeneration to produce Reju Polyester.? We teamed up with United Way to celebrate the Day of Action. Volunteers from the Illinois National Bank (INB) here in Springfield, United Way, and members of our team came together and worked to enhance the landscape of our Wabash store. We left the surrounding areas free of debris and trash, gardened, and planted trees and fall flowers. Thank you all for your hard work, support of our Mission, and for doing such a great job. It looks amazing. We love it! What a nice, rewarding afternoon!

We would like to thank Jamie Toole at the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes college baseball team for partnering with us for a 3-month "Shoe" Drive! We love partnering with great organizations in our markets. The Lucky Horseshoes are members of the Prospect League in Central Illinois.
