Seeking to put God’s love into action, Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Our nonprofit organization builds, renovates and repairs homes, as well as revitalizes neighborhoods, throughout Lancaster and Lebanon Counties. Habitat homes are purchased by families at an affordable, zero-percent interest mortgage. Our homebuyers work side by side with volunteers to complete hundreds of hours of sweat equity through the building of their home, as well as complete finance and home maintenance classes. Through education, counseling, mentor support and affordable housing costs, families are put in a position for future success in homeownership. Ninety-five percent of our homeowner families are living in their Habitat homes today, and 67 percent of all Habitat homeowners increase their income. By supporting Habitat for Humanity, you can make a lasting difference in our community and transform lives. You can empower families, women, and children with dignity, strength and stability. You can help a child do better in school and go on to college. That child will graduate, get a decent job, buy a house, start a family, and break the cycle of poverty forever. It was rainy and chilly outside yesterday, but inside the Habitat program offices it was nothing but warmth, good vibes and big smiles! Please join us in welcoming our new homebuyers Phyllis, Ralph and their family, including one of their granddaughters pictured here, to the Habitat family! We’re so excited to partner with them on their journey to affordable homeownership. We’re now up to 31 families in our homeownership program. Phyllis and Ralph diligently and patiently worked through the application process and said, during yesterday’s welcome orientation, that it was worth the wait. Thanks to LCBC Church Lebanon campus for making a generous donation through their Easy to See Giving initiative. These funds will support our build projects by helping us to purchase a trailer to store scaffolding.
