Lancaster County is proud to support the Lincoln Children's Zoo’s Zoo Lights through the Visitors Improvement Fund! ?? This beloved annual event, which saw over 72,000 visitors last year, is more than just a local favorite – it’s a draw for families and tourists from across Nebraska and beyond. This year, the Visitors Improvement Fund helped bring an exciting new addition to life – a fountain light show inspired by iconic displays like the Bellagio in Las Vegas. ???? Using dazzling lights to create the illusion of dancing water, the show will be 300% larger than similar attractions anywhere in the United States! Zoo Lights not only brightens the holidays but also brings significant economic benefits to our community, with 27% of attendees traveling from outside Lincoln, supporting local hotels, restaurants, and shops. This dazzling attraction opens tommorrow, November 28 – don't miss it! ??????? #LancasterCountyNE #ZooLightsPoweredByLES #VisitorsImprovementFund #LincolnChildrensZoo #ZooLights #LancasterCounty #Nebraska #localgovernment #localgov #lincolnne #visitlincoln

Connecting data to maps helps us understand spatial patterns and relationships and improves decision-making processes by providing valuable insights. ?? The GIS team collaborates with many county agencies—from the County Assessor to the Sheriff’s Office, Engineering, Weed Control Authority, and the Election Commission—to create customized dashboards that capture, manage, and track essential information, from land records and tax parcels to right-of-ways, culverts, and bridges! A huge thank you to GIS team for making data accessible and empowering Lancaster County to make informed decisions that strengthen our community! ??
