Founded in 1961 by Bob Terese and Corinne Owen, Lambs Farm was created based on a simple belief: All people should be treated with dignity and respect and people with developmental disabilities can lead meaningful and productive lives. They opened The Lambs, a pet shop on State Street in downtown Chicago, to create work opportunities for people with developmental disabilities, and to demonstrate that they can do a great deal more than most people thought possible at the time. In 1965. W. Clement Stone donated what is now the 72-acre farm with a century old barn that we call home. We now serve 250 participants. Most of them live at Lambs Farm in one of our nine group homes, in our 16-unit apartment building or in our retirement residence. Some participants live in the surrounding community in single family homes owned and operated by Lambs Farm. Other participants live at home with their families but commute to Lambs Farm daily to work and take part in our many programs. Many of our people are employed in the community while many more choose to work at Lambs Farm in a wide array of jobs available to them through our businesses, work center, administration, groundskeeping and more.

The 32nd Annual Lambs Farm Holiday Party was everything we hoped for and more! Participants, families, and staff came together to celebrate all the amazing moments of 2024, and in classic Lambs Farm fashion, we tore up the dance floor. A heartfelt thank you to Board member Karen Lieberman for continuing this cherished tradition, The Not for Profit Band for the awesome music, and Lincolnshire Marriott Resort for hosting a fantastic event. Here’s to another year of teamwork and growth!

What an amazing day we had with the Cisco team last week! They brought their energy and enthusiasm to every task, and we couldn’t be more appreciative of their efforts. Here’s a look at how they helped: ? Assisted with IT tasks ? Painted the accent wall at LF Studios ? Organized and built additional shelving ? Helped participants with their artwork ? Made and packed delicious cookies in the bakery ? Showered our rescue pups with love and attention in the Pet Center ? As we wrap up another busy catalog season, we want to say thank you to Astellas Pharma for being incredible holiday helpers! From September through December, Astellas went all out, lending helping hands to the Sugar Maple Country Store & Bakery and Shipping teams. They made cookies, filled boxes, packaged, labeled, and sealed tons of festive treats! This wonderful tradition is something we look forward to every year. We could not do what we do without them!
