A simple yet powerful message: TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN. ???????? Trans women have always been a vital part of our community, and we uplift and center their stories this month and all year long. Their stories and struggles have played a pivotal role in shaping the LGBTQ+ movement, and their achievements deserve our applause and support. It’s important now more than ever to speak out against discrimination and fight for the rights of trans women across the nation. Tell a trans woman how much you appreciate her today! ?? #WomensHistoryMonth

关于我们
Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work. Lambda Legal has been making the case for equality on behalf of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV throughout the United States for more than 35 years. Our strategy combines groundbreaking work in the courts with innovative education and public policy work to change the hearts and minds of the public — and to teach people how to make sure that LGBT civil rights are respected. Through our offices in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles, we average over 60 cases at any given time, tackling a range of issues including marriage, relationships and parenting; employment discrimination; HIV; health care; transgender rights; youth issues; and the battle for fair courts. Lambda Legal’s mission is to achieve full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work. We see our efforts as an integral part of the continuing struggle for civil rights in America.

“When we present young people with a version of history from which they are completely absent, they have trouble envisioning a positive future for themselves. Including LGBTQ+ history isn’t being “woke”: It’s telling the full and complete truth about our nation’s past. And it’s just the right thing to do.” – Kevin Jennings, Lambda Legal CEO https://lnkd.in/e4bFVX5K

March 20 is National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NNHAAD)—a day to increase awareness of the impact of HIV and AIDS on American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians (AI/AN) and to encourage engagement in education, testing, prevention, and treatment. But let’s be clear: ?? The Trump administration is actively threatening HIV funding, research, and access to services. ?? Racism, discrimination, and systemic barriers continue to drive disparities in HIV prevention and treatment for AI/AN communities. ?? The #CDC used to provide NNHAAD resources—until this administration erased them. We won’t let decades of progress be undone. Share this and act now to save HIV funding! https://lnkd.in/gDiB2AAh

At this very moment, the federal government is attempting to undermine access to passports for transgender, gender-nonconforming, nonbinary, and intersex (TGNCNBI) people by introducing new passport policies that force people to out themselves any time they must show their ID. But you can help make a difference RIGHT NOW. Through Advocates for Trans Equality’s Freedom to Fly campaign, we can push for federal documents that match our lived gender—ensuring that TGNCNBI people can move through the world safely and with dignity. The State Department is accepting public comments until 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, March 17 for people to submit their concerns about these anti-trans policies. Use Advocates for Trans Equality’s simple, three-step portal to help you submit your comment. The more voices we raise, the harder it becomes for the government to deny our fundamental right to freedom of movement. Submit your comment now: https://lnkd.in/eMUhEwM6

Meet Kayla Gore, an unapologetic Black trans woman based in Memphis, Tennessee. Through her activist work and Lambda Legal case, she is making history in the here and now as she advocates for secure housing and accurate identity documents for the trans community. ?? “I think for me and for a lot of trans people, we want to be seen as human beings. We want to be seen as equal individuals and receive equal protections under the law.” Kayla is one of the founders of My Sistah’s House, a grassroots organization in Memphis that builds tiny houses for trans people of color. She’s also a plaintiff in our case against Tennessee’s discriminatory policy seeking to prohibit trans people from correcting gender markers on birth certificates. “Being trans to me means living authentically true to yourself, regardless of what society thinks of us, especially the Tennessee legislature.” Thank you, Kayla, for all the incredible work you do to #SpeakOUT for trans visibility, safety, and justice! ??????? #WomensHistoryMonth
