LAI San Diego Chapter Names New President and Board of Directors ?? San Diego, CA, January 29, 2025 – The San Diego chapter of Lambda Alpha International (LAI) has announced its 2025 board of directors, led by new board president, Beth Binger.?LAI is an invitation-only global organization that allows for the meaningful exchange of ideas surrounding land use and development. ?Members include multi-disciplinary professionals who have distinguished themselves in a wide variety of fields related to the use and reuse of land.

Thoughts from your part of the world? What have been the big changes in our cities over the last 25 years, and what lies ahead? LAI's Vancouver Chapter is planning a series of talks to look backwards and forwards 25 years to discuss and debate the trends that have made a difference, and those that will shape our urban futures!

Climate extremes are impacting cities everywhere - our thoughts and care goes out to our LAI members in Los Angeles some of whom have had to evacuate their homes.

Max Farrell reflects on two years as President of LAI's London chapter ??

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, in collaboration with the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design and Design Connects, is thrilled to co-organize the U.S. Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia under the theme “PORCH: An Architecture of Generosity.” The exhibition celebrates the porch as a quintessential American architectural space, a place that fosters connection, resilience, and a sense of community. We invite architects, designers, artists, nonprofits, public agencies, and individuals across the U.S. and its territories to submit built projects that reflect this iconic typology. The pavilion will feature at least 50 participants, showcasing projects that span scales, geographies, and histories. Submissions are open now through January 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST. ??Kicking off the festive season with the LAI London chapter ?????? Amongst the crackers, silly jokes and merriment, I was thrilled to receive my membership certificate and pin from Max Farrell , the outgoing chapter President in recognition of my contribution to Land Economics and the Built Environment. Also happy to share that I will be joining the incoming President Frances Heeney in the new Executive Team as Treasurer, alongside Nick Colley, CFA (Vice President), Ryan Gill (Marketing & Communications) and Mark Davy (Events).
