Lakeshirts is a custom apparel decorating company that started in our owner’s parents’ basement in 1984. We have since grown to an $200 million+ company in a 275,000 square foot facility. Our production floor includes 48 automatic screenprint presses, 32 multi-head embroidery machines, six 60-foot laser appliqué bridges, three sublimation presses, and a number of dogs running around the place.
Lakeshirts sales continue to grow, as does its profitability, due to the hard work and continuous improvement efforts of its 500+ employees and over 60 nation-wide reps.
Lakeshirts provides decorated apparel to thousands of customers in the resort and college markets, being a preferred choice to customers based on its breadth of great designs, great garments in its inventory, and reliable and responsive delivery.
With more than 40 artists on our staff, we create thousands of pieces of art each year, giving each customer a unique look. We have over 100 bodystyles in stock, and each one comes in a multitude of colors, totaling more than 1,000,000 pieces in our inventory.
This is all done in a culture that reflects respect, community, and fun. Our culture is second-to-none and must be experienced to be truly understood. Irony? We call it versatility. ?? Life’s better in a t-shirt… and sometimes that t-shirt is disguised as a sweatshirt. ??
Do you think Lakeshirts were aware of the irony when they put "Life's better in a t-shirt" on a sweatshirt? Of course! I love when brands show their ability and willingness to get ahead of a joke, even in a subtle way. I also love when I can walk away from a video project with a sweatshirt that is one of my favorites ever ??

Fun news from the Lakeshirts team! We’re proud to share that our Marketing Team member, Viva, has officially been voted onto the Fair Labor Association (FLA) Communications Committee! At Lakeshirts, we believe in doing good work- not just in the apparel we create, but in the way we show up for our people, our partners, and the industry as a whole. Becoming an accredited company with the FLA was a huge step in our commitment to fair labor practices, and now, we’re excited to have Viva representing us in this important space, in addition to the work our entire Compliance & Social Responsibility team members do on the daily. This work is so important, and we’re grateful to be part of it. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that life’s truly better in a t-shirt, and that they really do go with everything…?? We can’t wait to see the impact Viva will make as part of the FLA Communications Committee. In challenging times, it’s always inspiring to gather with colleagues who share a commitment to making the world a better place. Yesterday, I was joined at the Fair Labor Association spring board convening by Jasmin Malik Chua and Viva Klundt Lauinger, who recommended ways for #FairLaborMember companies, universities, and CSOs to share the stories of the powerful work they do to protect the rights of workers worldwide. Key takeaway: strong relationships are key, whether externally with members of the media, or internally among those in your organization who support your mission. Thank you both for generously offering your expertise.

Today, we celebrated Theresa and her incredible 27 years of hard work, dedication, and countless samples shipped out to our reps across all divisions. From tees and sweatshirts to stickers, socks, and hats, she’s played a vital role in making sure our team and customers get exactly what they need. In nearly 30 of our 40 years, she’s seen a lot, worked in different spaces, and brought her team-first mentality every step of the way. It's Polar Fest Plunge week! ?? So, naturally, we stopped by the Boys & Girls Club of Detroit Lakes to return our Chillanthropy Champions trophy from last year, which may or may not be returning to our fireplace mantle @ hq... We're proud to have made the biggest monetary splash last year & look forward to being a large contributor to this year's event as well. ????
