Lake Region Healthcare is a not-for-profit healthcare system with a 108-bed hospital, multi-specialty clinic, cancer center, assisted living community and athletic training & group fitness facility on our main campus in Fergus Falls. Expanded clinic hours are offered at our west-side Walk-In Clinic and outreach clinic services are provided in Ashby, Battle Lake, Barnesville and Elbow Lake. Improving the health of people who live, work and vacation in in this beautiful lakes area is our aim and our privilege. With over 80 and over 900 employees, our team is dedicated to serving our patients and community with integrity, teamwork, compassion and excellence.

Preceptors play a crucial role in shaping the future of healthcare, and Rebecca is a shining example of dedication and excellence in education. ?? Student Nomination Highlight: "Rebecca is an exemplary preceptor... Her exceptional expertise, dedication to teaching, and empathetic approach to patient care set her apart as a role model for both students and colleagues. Her ability to empathize with patients is truly remarkable... Rebecca is passionately committed to educating the next generation of healthcare professionals." ?? Preceptor Q&A: Q: What do you enjoy most about being a preceptor? A: "I always enjoy the opportunity to precept. I recall some of the preceptors I had as a student and still reflect sometimes on how my experience with them helped shape my confidence and competence as an NP. I am grateful to be able to reciprocate this and help educate the nurse practitioners of the future. After several clinic visits with the same illness or disease process, its always rewarding for me to see the light bulb slowly turn on in students as they put together all of the pieces of their diagnosis, assessment, and plan." Q: What advice would you give students in their clinicals? A: "Be engaged at all times and try to get as much out of your clinical time as you can. Review charts for the patients...Look things up, ask questions. Seek out opportunities to learn. Be proactive in your learning and actively pursue the clinical opportunities you are hoping to have during your time as a student."
