Great to be back home in the Twin Cities today getting to keynote Lake Elmo Bank’s All Team Development Day! Lake Elmo Bank was chartered way back in 1911 by a group of farmers and local business owners. Today, behind three branches throughout the affluent eastern metro, and with assets well over $500 million, they’re among the larger community banks in the state of Minnesota. I do a lot of work in the financial services space, but working with independent community banks is the most rewarding. I grew up working in my family’s fourth generation chain of furniture stores which were all located in small towns throughout southern Minnesota, and we never would’ve survived without the local banks taking care of us. This was a great group, with a really unique story that’s steeped in a culture of local service.
