Reaching our ambitious 2028 goals won't be easy, but thanks to the leadership of our unprecedented public-private Transportation Electrification Partnership, we are moving forward on our bold regional targets and celebrating statewide milestones along the way. And just this week the State of California reached a major milestone: the number of EVs sold in CA has hit 2 million. This marks a shared commitment by millions of Californians toward a clean air future powered by EVs. It is also a major step in the right direction as we work toward our TEP goals--like ensuring 80% of light duty private vehicle sales are EVs by the time of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Los Angeles County Chief Sustainability Office recently released its 2024 annual report reflecting on the County's sustainability accomplishments over the past five years.The County is a founding member of our Transportation Electrification Partnership (TEP) and Clean Energy Partnership (CEP), which are accelerating zero emission goals by the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Through a referral from LACI, we're excited to share that Blip Energy has been selected as 1 of 3 companies for the upcoming Cohort 14 of The Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN2), a clean technology program funded by Wells Fargo and co-administered by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)! Co-Founders Sophia Wennstedt and Chance Cobb will receive $250,000 to work with NREL on validating & refining their technology. "How does LA create a LEGACY with hosting the 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games?" ^^This was the theme I heard throughout many conversations last week while attending CoMotion and Green Tech Festival. We have such an incredible opportunity with the games coming to LA in less than 4 years and I'm excited to witness how Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) and our portfolio companies will play a role! In building on the theme of legacy, it was so fun seeing so many LACI companies across several cohorts out and about last week!
