When we wrote our first Lafayette American employee handbook and decided on our holidays and vacation policy, one thing we knew for sure was we would close on Election Day. Even with unlimited PTO - sometimes you need to fully close so the team feels like they have permission to unplug. Today, my kiddo and I voted together, and since his school was closed, too, we didn't have to rush around all morning. We voted, we went to a coffee shop, we went to the library, and we talked about why voting matters. And yes, my little boy watched me cry a little bit when I cast my vote for progress and acceptance and inclusion. Let's go.
