A big thank you to the Specialty Food Association for hosting SKU at your board meeting in Austin. Five SKU brands - Daily Crunch, mmmpanadas, OhhFoods, Heather's Choice and Babka ATX - were given the opportunity to pitch to the board for a chance to win a free booth at the Winter Fancy Food Show. The winner was Babka ATX. Babka ATX founder Sariel Brummer moved to the U.S. from the other side of the world where she was used to having babka next to her coffee, for breakfast, as a dessert, an afternoon snack or as a late night munch. Sariel realized many people here had never heard of babka (unless they watched the Seinfeld episode). She in her quest for a connection to home, so she perfected her family’s recipe and added her own special twists. Babka ATX is currently available at such retailers as Central Market. The Fancy Food Show will enable Sariel to showcase her babka to a larger audience as she pursues expansion opportunities.
