Thank you to Jade Driscoll, Eleri Archer, and Lauren Edwards from Douglas-Jones Mercer - DJM Solicitors for an amazing panel discussion. Our members were able to gain an insight into a career at DJM, the skills needed to be a great Solicitor, and what to expect from a career in law. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend an incredibly powerful online workshop hosted by Ladies of Law???? and the amazing Coach Sharn Atherton, focused on something that really resonated with me—imposter syndrome. It was more than just a conversation—it was a safe and supportive space to reflect, connect, and better understand that inner voice that tells us we're not good enough, even when we absolutely are. What stood out the most was the focus on recognising and celebrating our unique strengths, experiences, and value—something many of us (especially in the legal space) tend to overlook. If you've ever felt like you're not enough or questioned your place, you're definitely not alone. This session reminded me that with the right support and mindset, we can shift those beliefs and own our worth. Grateful to Sharn and Ladies of Law for creating such an empowering experience. Growth starts with awareness—and yesterday was a big step forward. #ImposterSyndrome #LadiesOfLaw #PersonalGrowth #Coaching #MindsetMatters #Gratitude #SharnAtherton #WomenInLaw

?? Last night, we had an incredible online event featuring the inspiring mindset coach Sharn Atherton! ?? The discussion centered around a powerful topic: **"Not Being in Your Own Way."** It’s a reminder that often, the biggest barriers we face are self-imposed. Sharn shared valuable insights on recognising limiting beliefs and overcoming self-doubt, emphasising the importance of stepping outside of our comfort zones to unlock our true potential. ?? Many of us hold ourselves back due to fear, perfectionism, or the need for validation. Sharn encouraged us to challenge these thoughts, empowering us to embrace our strengths and take bold steps forward. By shifting our mindset, we can create opportunities for growth and success. ? Remember, progress starts when we stop standing in our own way. Let's commit to pushing past our limitations and supporting each other on this journey! Thank you to everyone who joined us. Let’s carry this momentum forward! ?? #GrowthMindset #PersonalDevelopment #OnlineEvent

It was a brilliant event, thank you Sharn Atherton ????????
Elevating Confidence & Overcoming Self-Doubt: A Transformational Evening with Ladies of Law?? This evening, I had the privilege of attending a truly powerful and thought-provoking workshop hosted by the phenomenal Ladies of Law???? . As an ambassador, I’m always eager to engage in spaces that uplift, empower, and challenge us to step into our fullest potential. This session, led by the brilliant Coach Sharn Atherton, was exactly that. ?? The Power of Mindset & Self-Belief We delved deep into self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and the critical importance of recognising our own worth—a conversation that resonated with every attendee. It was eye-opening to learn that 70% of people experience imposter syndrome and that even the most accomplished individuals battle the feeling of not being "enough." Coach Sharn introduced us to Dr. Valerie Young’s imposter types, from the perfectionist to the soloist, and the ways these tendencies can unconsciously limit us. We explored trigger points, how to reframe negative thoughts, and how to silence that inner critic—allowing us to embrace confidence, self-trust, and growth. ?? Game-Changing Takeaways: ? Recognise Your Achievements – Keep an accomplishment journal and celebrate your wins, no matter how small. ? Reframe the Narrative – Challenge negative self-talk and replace it with affirmations rooted in truth. ? Own Your Expertise – "If it’s based on facts, it’s not bragging." Self-promotion is an act of confidence, not arrogance. ? Step Outside Your Comfort Zone – Take small, intentional risks that push you forward. The most profound moment? Envisioning our future selves—the version of us unshackled by self-doubt, standing fully in our power. The energy in the virtual room was electric as we shared visions of the confidence, success, and freedom we are all working towards. ? Leaving this session with a renewed sense of purpose, clarity, and drive. Thank you, Ladies of Law, Ella Watts and a huge appreciation to Coach Sharn Atherton for the invaluable insights and strategies shared. To anyone struggling with imposter syndrome: You belong. You are capable. You are worthy. ???? Let’s start a conversation: What’s one mindset shift that has changed the game for you?

Two exciting updates to share this week!? Exciting times ahead as I prepare to move into my second seat of my training contact at Acuity Law, transitioning from Commercial Litigation to Corporate in two weeks! I have had a fantastic time in Commercial Litigation, headed by Aisha Wardell, learning so much and gaining invaluable experience. A huge thank you to this team for their support and guidance! I am also excited to be joining the Corporate team, headed by Beverley Jones, and look forward to gaining new insights and experience within this area of law. Additionally, this week I was honoured to be asked to be a panelist at the bicentennial The Law Society Wales Office - Cymdeithas y Cyfreithwyr event celebrating 200 years of the Law Society with Dr Bronwen Williams JP MStJ, Gareth Jones, Dan Caunt & Carolyn Kirby, chaired by Jonathon Davies. Many thanks to Richard Atkinson our Law Society President, Mark Evans current Vice President and our next Law Society Presidnet & mick antoniw ?????????????????? for their motivating & inspiring speeches, it was a pleasure to meet you. The panel discussion involved looking towards the future of the profession: AI, technology, Level 7 Solicitors Apprenticeships, the SQE & the need to increase diversity within the profession. It was an incredible opportunity to reflect on my own journey and the barriers I have faced on my journey into the profession & speak to a room full of professionals about diversity, statistics & the room for further development. As I pointed out The Legal Social Mobility Fund are doing incredible work to empower aspiring solicitors from lower socioeconomic backgrounds to help them achieve their dream of a legal career providing financial support for laptops, business attire etc. They have personally supported me on my journey & I cannot recommend them enough! There will be Law Society celebrations of the 200th year in various locations & I recommend attending one closest to you- it was an incredible evening both for discussion & networking. They are free to attend, students and all levels of professionals are welcome. Ladies of Law???? Cardiff and South East Wales JLD #law #networking #traineesolicitor #SQE #cardifflawstudent
