Tomorrow, Saturday, February 22 (10 AM - 4 pm) we are expecting over 1,500 families impacted by the LA Fires to join us at the Beehive for Together We Rebuild. This event is SoLa Impact's way of standing with those affected, particularly families from the Altadena community. The event will provide Relief, Resources, and Reprieve to impacted individuals and families — offering everything from direct financial assistance, technical guidance on rebuilding, a wellness center for self-care (mani/pedis, yoga, massage stations) and a kids' carnival to bring joy to the little ones.? We will be giving away brand new and cool vintage clothing, brand-new laptops, generators, mobile hotspot devices, furniture, and other essentials.? The Social Impact team and The SoLa Foundation have enlisted over 80 corporate and philanthropic partners, raised over $1MM in pledges, gifts, and giveaways for Altadena families. We’re also honored to welcome some of our investors and major corporate partners, including the Los Angeles Rams, BMO, Netflix, Riot Games, Better Angels, and Live Nation Entertainment. Together We Rebuild is our way of giving back and collectively demonstrating the resilience of Angelenos. Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is now available for workers in Los Angeles County impacted by the California wildfires and severe winds. Employment Development Department is offering immediate financial relief for those affected. ? How to Apply: Workers can apply for benefits through myEDD and indicate that their job loss is due to the disaster. ? ??? No Waiting Week: The typical one-week waiting period is waived, so benefits will start from the first week of unemployment. ? ?? Employer Assistance: Employers impacted by the disaster can request a 60-day extension to file payroll reports and taxes without penalties. ? ??
